  • Are fishing equipment included?

    All fishing gear, tackle, line, flies are included on all our fishing charters.

  • Can I flats fish and reef fish on the same charter?

    Our flats fishing and reef fishing charters uses 2 different types of boats, guides, equipment, and fishing location. Therefor we are unable to offer both on the same charter.

  • We are coming to Belize in a Cruise Ship. Can you accommodate?

    We are located on the island of San Pedro and the cruise ship docks in Belize City. If you are docking in Harvest Caye we will be unable to offer services due to location. To get to the island you would have to get a cab to the municipal airstrip (5 minutes, cost $5US) then a flight to San Pedro. The flight schedule to San Pedro is every hour on the half hour. The flight takes about 20 minutes and the cost is about $105US per person round trip. Flights can be booked online at tropicair.com Your guide will be waiting for you at the airstrip to take you to the dock to start your trip. Usually its half day that is done giving you enough time to return to Belize City.

  • What happens if the weather is bad?

    If we have to cancel due to weather or fault of our own, we will try to reschedule if not we will give a full refund. All other cancellation are non refundable.

  • I need to cancel my charter for personal reason, can I get a refund?

    The client may cancel the booking at any time provided that the cancellation is communicated to the Company in writing. Cancellation charges will be applied as shown below calculated from the day when the Company receives written notice.

    30days or more – 100% of cost minus $50US administrative fees

    29-14 days – 50% of total cost refundable

    13 – day of charter – 100% of total cost non refundable

  • What form of payment do you accept?

    We accept VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, PayPal and Direct Deposit.

  • Sea Sickness. What do I do?

    We recommend you take a Dramamine. Take one the night before bed and one in the morning.

  • Do you have a reef fishing boat with bathroom?

    Yes, we do. You can upgrade to our 28ft Reef fishing boat that has a canopy, bathroom and fresh water hose for only $100US per charter

  • Do you offer pickup?

    We offer free pickup and drop off on Ambergris Caye starting at 5 Miles north (Matachica Resort) to the furthest point south on the beach front (east side). If you are staying between 5 and 7 miles north (beach front) of San Pedro town please add on transportation. Transportation cost is $30US round trip per boat. If you are staying on the lagoon side or more than 7 miles north please call us for pickup options.

  • Do we need fishing license?

    Fishing license is required for flats fishing only. Fishing license can be purchased at www.coastalzonebelize.org

  • Are we allowed to keep the fish?

    Tarpon, Permit and Bone Fish (flats fishing) are catch and release only. All other species can be cleaned by your guide and taken to any of the local restaurant for then to prepare for you.

  • Does your boat have a cover or bathroom?

    All our reef fishing boats have a canopy on them. Our flats fishing boats does not have a canopy because of the fly rods being used.

  • Can we customize our trip?

    All our charters are private charters, meaning the boat is not shared with others. You can definitely customize your charter. We will try and accommodate you as best as possible.

  • Do you provide lunch?

    You will need to take lunch on full day charters if it does not include a beach BBQ lunch. Depending on best fishing areas and pickup location our guide can also take you to Caye Caulker to have lunch at one of the local restaurants. Please inform us before if you would prefer this option. We do provide refreshments. Refreshments are soda, water and ice. You are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages if you choose our purchase from us.

  • When is Tarpon, Permit and Bone Fish season?

    Tarpon season is from May to September. That’s when we have the bigger migrating tarpon (50+ pound). Local baby tarpons (25 to 40 pounds) are available all year round.

    Permit season is from February to May. That’s when we get the bigger migrating Permit (15 to 35 pounds) Local smaller Permit (3 to 10 pounds) are available all year round.

    Bone fish is good all year round. Bigger bonefish tend to travel solo and range between 8 to 15 pounds. Smaller bone fish range between 1 to 5 pounds.
